Subtracting (I) and (II) side by side -4r = -3p ⇒ r / p = 3 / 4.

Note: It is just ridiculous to give such an unnecessarily long solution in the above link, but the following comment is very true:
"if you’re aiming at an Ivy or one of the other top schools, you can only miss 2 or 3 questions out of the 58 math questions on the whole SAT."
