    What is the probability that a basketball player whose probability of making a shot is 3 / 4 can make a shot at most on the third attempt?

    The probability of;
    "Success on the first try" or "Failure on the first and Success on the second try" or "Failure on the first two attempts and Success on the last try" is;

    3 / 4 + (1 / 4)(3 / 4) + (1 / 4)(1 / 4)(3 / 4) = (48 + 12 + 3) = 63 / 64
