    In 8 years the value will be 3 × 100 = 300. Eight years later (after a total of 16 years), the value will be 3 × 300 = 900. Eight years after that (after a total of 24 years) the value will be 3 × 900 = 2700. And eight years after that (after a total of 32 years) the value will be
    3 × 2700 = 8100.
